We are no longer able to see patients in person, and as such have started seeing patients using virtual care. As one can imagine, this is substantially harder work for substatially lower income as not all insurance companies are supporting virtual care and not all patients are interested in doing virtual care. As a result, myself, my patients and my company are suffering physically, emotionally and financially.

We are a small multi-disciplinary health clinic in Bowmanville. We have been successfully serving this community since 2001. We currently have 5 people (2owners included) working professionals (4 RMT’s, 1 Chiropractor) working as subcontractors. We serve an important role in the community supporting both mental and physical health challenges. Everyone at our clinic works with a great love and passion to provide professional care. At this time for the owners there is the continued responsibility of paying the clinic’s overhead approximately $3200/month, but with no income available. Both owners are using money saved to cover income tax to pay for their business bills. We are both eligible for the CERB but not the CEBA. The CEBA would allow us to cover our clinic bills and not go further into debt. It will take months to get back on our feet again, if our business survives this pandemic. Please help us create a viable solution.

I support small businesses like MOVE Fitness and The Cycling Gym in my neighbourhood (Leslieville) — the neighbourhood has flourished so much over the past 10 years, it would be such a shame to see local services close permanently as they are a huge part of the community. Please expedite financial support to them clearly and quickly so they can stay afloat during this crisis.

I own a very small fitness business that employs amazing instructors who are paid as contractors. Therefore, Núcleo does not qualify for the government financial aid programs. Furthermore, we are partially a rowing studio where classes require the use of equipment . We are looking at renting and selling equipment to offer virtual LIVE classes, but too early to know if that will be successful or not. Without the rowing component and the revenue that comes with it, I am not sure how long I can sustain núcleo without financial aid.

As a small business, we made the decision on March 18th to close down all our in-person operations due to COVID-19. This has effectively siphoned off our ability to generate income and provide training and coaching to the majority of our in-person clientele.

With the uncertainty surrounding a return to business as usual, we request that the government step up and help us survive so that we can be there for our clients when this pandemic is resolved.

I am forced to close my doors yet I am not eligible for any government assistance. My landlords are expecting full rent but I have no income

We have been on Quarantine since March 15th. Members are very upset with the closure. This Academy has been a pillar in the community since 1996. We want a plan to open soon.
