Like everyone else we pay substantial amounts in rent and are making no income in these times. The hole is so big we are unsure how long we can sustain this lockdown.

We closed our doors March 17th and community is suffering. We need to keep our members healthy and strong but we’re not sure the doors will open again if this goes too much longer.

My gym has been forced to shut down due to covid 19. I’m offering free online workouts but it doesn’t look like gyms will be able to reopen anytime soon. Gyms are vital to mental and physical health and without support, we won’t be able to sustain free classes forever.

I am concerned that the current relief programs do not apply to our yoga studio. Our staff are all subcontractors and we do not have a “payroll” however our annual wages are close to $100,000.

We do not qualify for the $40 k business loan nor the wage subsidy program.

As an RMT we have not been able to work since March 16.

As a wellness practitioner, it’s been harder to connect with new clients, as everyone is on a tighter budget. It makes it difficult to stay in business.

I am more concerned about AFTER the pandemic. Will people return? Will they spend money with us again? Will we ba able to afford our expenses with the knowled that we will see at least a 10% loss in clientele with a very slow gain after that.

I want to be optimistic but in Alberta we are being hit hard and financially preparing for the worst economy we have seen since 1930.

    It’s scary.

I am a wellness professional who’s business relies on being face to face with clients & patients. My income has been severely impacted by COVID.

My clinic has been closed for 6 weeks and has no income. The landlord will not sign up for the commercial rent relief program and I do not qualify for the $40,000 loan as my RMTs are independent contractors and there is no payroll. Rent is due May 1 and I was barely able to make my April 1 payment
